Our Process
From first call to installed machine, here’s exactly what working with R+D looks like — no automation background required.
1. Discovery Call
We learn your product, current process, volumes, and constraints. We'll talk through what you're currently doing, your target volumes, and any regulatory or facility constraints. This call is free and doesn't commit you to anything — it's how we figure out together whether we're the right fit for the project.
2. Concept & Proof of Principle
Not every project needs this step, but for higher-risk or genuinely novel processes, we don't ask you to commit to a full system design on faith. We'll build and test a proof-of-principle rig first, so the hardest technical questions get answered early, before real budget is on the line.
3. Design Review
Before a single part gets machined, we walk your team through the complete proposed design — both the mechanical layout and the controls architecture. This is your chance to catch anything that doesn't match your process, your facility, or your team's expectations while changes are still easy to make.
4. Build & Internal Testing (FAT)
Your system is built and then run through a full internal Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) at our Trevor, WI facility. We run it the way it'll actually run in production and work out issues on our own floor, before you ever see the machine.
5. Customer FAT
Once we're satisfied internally, your team comes to see the actual machine run at our facility before it ships. This is where you get hands-on with the equipment, verify it does what was promised, and sign off before it leaves our building.
6. Installation & Validation Support
We install the system on-site and stay involved through your validation process — supporting Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ) activities, so the documentation you need for regulatory sign-off is built alongside the machine.
7. Ongoing Support
The relationship doesn't end at installation. Our After Market team handles training for your operators and maintenance staff, keeps spare parts available, and supports future upgrades or retrofits as your product or production volume changes over time.
